Children who have FAS tend to reach homeostasis slower than healthy children
Diabetes
Since many children with FAS have diabetes, it takes them longer to reach homeostasis. To reach a balance, sugar should not remain in your blood steam, it should be taken in by cells to be used or stored for future use. If a child has diabetes he or she is not able to do this naturally. Therefore, an FAS child takes more time to reach homeostasis.
